Love is a goat called Louise

We have some sad news this week that a key member of our team passed away over the winter break, our goat “Louise” passed away on 10 July 2014 after a short illness. She wasn’t going to get better and the vet recommended we put her to sleep. It was so sad to see such a strong goat deteriorate in her final days.

Visitors to kiwimana HQ will remember her as the naughty goat that was often seen eating Margaret’s new plants, whenever there got into range or she pulled out her chain. Margaret remembers fondly how louise used to prune her trees when she was on one of her quests for freedom.

Lots of children that visited us will remember how friendly she was especially if you had an apple or a carrot.

It has been a tearful time, and myself and Margaret were very upset by the loss of Louise, I know people will just say shes ONLY a goat, but she was really a big part of our family and we will miss her very much.

We found Louise at the dog pound seven years ago and rescued her from being put down by the council. We hope we gave her a great life at kiwimana Hq, she always had lots to eat and enjoyed sitting in the grass on summer days chewing her cud. You will be missed Louise…..
